HUBUNGAN ANTARA PARITAS DENGAN KEJADIAN PENDARAHAN POST PARTUM DI RSUD DEMANG SEPULAU RAYA

Abstract

One of the main causes of maternal death is postpartum hemorrhage. The main risk factors that influence postpartum hemorrhage include age and parity. Pregnancies said to be at high risk are those less than 20 years and over 35 years and a uterus that has given birth to many children tends to work inefficiently during all periods of labor. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between maternal parity and the incidence of post-partum hemorrhage in mothers giving birth at the Demang Se Island Raya Regional Hospital. This type of research is quantitative with an analytical design using a case control approach. The case sample in the study was 51 respondents from a total population of 130. The variables in this study were the independent variable, namely parity, and the dependent variable, namely the incidence of post-partum bleeding. The results of this study were that the majority of postpartum mothers had a parity that was not at risk (II-III), namely 58 people (56.9%). From these results it can be concluded that there is a relationship between age and the incidence of postpartum hemorrhage. It is recommended that midwives or health workers improve services through preventive efforts such as counseling about risk factors for post-partum hemorrhage, early detection of post-partum hemorrhage in women giving birth and it can be handled appropriately so that it does not cause complications that cause maternal death.
