Abstract

Pregnancy is a physiological process that occurs continuously. During pregnancy, the mother experiences physiological changes that will cause discomfort. Complementary therapy can be a solution to reduce discomfort and even cure some diseases. Reviewing the evidence on the use of complementary therapies in pregnancy This research is a scoping review with Arksey and O'Malley framework. Search articles using three databases used PubMed, Willy, Science Direct. The keywords used are Effectiveness, Complementary Therapy Pregnancy. The review and characterization was carried out by means of a critical appraisal using the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) study tool. Complementary therapy is a supportive therapy that has been widely used in various countries, and has benefits and an effective strategy in reducing pregnancy problems. Types of therapy that are often used such as massage, yoga and herbs. The disadvantage of complementary therapy methods is that there is still limited evidence based that examines complementary therapies Complementary therapy is a supportive therapy that has been applied in various countries and is effective in reducing health problems. However, there are still drawbacks, namely the lack of evidence based on complementary therapiesinterest.
